RohwaJeong: in the gaze lie thickness and density
Hakgojae will open “in the gaze lie thickness and density" from June 5 to July 6, 2024. Rohwajeong is the name of an artist collective composed of Noh Yunhee (1981-) and Jeong Hyunseok (1981-). Since 2007, when they were only in their mid-twenties, Rohwajeong has attracted the attention of the art field with their insightful reflections on the relationship between people, and have received acclaim for their solo exhibitions in major spaces in Korea and abroad. In the title of this exhibition, 'Noon-gil(in Korean)' means 'snowy road', but it also means 'eyes, attention' Our gaze and interest are cultivated and deepened through training and study, and it is the accumulated poetic thought that truly serves as the source of art.. The German word for ‘authenticity’, "Eigentlichkeit," also means to ‘possess’ (eigen, own), but it is related to the possession of the gaze (Augen). The path that Rohwajeong pursues lies in their genuine love for art.
